Editorial standards
The sourcing, authorship, updating, corrections, and disclosure standards used for bigideasdaily guides.
Accuracy and sourcing
Our standard is to trace consequential claims to primary sources whenever possible, including government departments, universities, regulators, official platform documentation, and original datasets. Older archive articles are being reviewed against this standard and may not yet show complete citations.
Authorship and review
Individual bylines identify a named contributor. The “bigideasdaily Editorial” byline identifies collaborative or archive work for which no single verified author profile is currently available. We do not invent credentials or expert identities.
Updates
A publication date records when an article first appeared. A modification date should change only after a meaningful factual or editorial update. Time-sensitive guidance should be rechecked against current official information before use.
Commercial relationships
Paid placements, sponsorships, and affiliate relationships should be disclosed near the relevant content. Editorial conclusions should not be sold to an advertiser or changed in exchange for payment.
Corrections
Substantive errors should be corrected promptly and transparently. See the corrections page for what to include in a correction request.
